A warm afternoon, to Red Cresent we head, Fresh from the 10-0 defeat to the Penang Men's State Team, we were on fire. Vowed to improve our performance agaiqnst a local club, Firebrands.
Physical wise, we knew we had the advantage, they looked like a bunch of kids around twelve to sixteen years old, except for their commander- Jason Chan, who was twice their age I suppose, 27 years old. But hey, we had to keep our feet on the ground, we have yet to find out or taste what skills do they have in the bag. It was a 4on4 game, due to the size of the hall. Nomad clad in green, while firebrands in their grey jersey.
From the start, they showed how floorball should be played- a team game with lots of passing and running. They were good in their passes and movements. However, we managed to score the first and second goals of the game.
Goals were pouring in from both sides. Firebrans showed a Nomad team with only 7 players that they were no puchovers, they showed great spirit throughout the game. Firebrands do look dangerous at times, but it was their physic that kept them at bay, it was the physical difference that cost them more goals.
Nomad won the game 8-5, CK dragging a shot to the top corner, a brace from Alex, Adrian Crnilla grabbing one and another four from Adrian Lim. Winning or losing the game was neither the case nor the point, it is the experience from the game that the team got together that matters most, it is the experience that matures the team together.
Penalties were followed, after the game, with both sides testing the opposition goalies with their own tricks and skills.
Good win, at least a consolation to bring back to Sabah. Keep it up Nomad. Nomad Gemilang, Nomad Gemilang, WooHa!!!
