The next game in our minds was against Innebandy!Co. A game in Balik Pulau Stadium, where Sabahans refer to as, "the largest rink we ever played in".
Nomad, a team with only 7 players left, facing a team with 4 lines, including two national players and a national goalie, it was a game of David against Goliath.
Nomads in their usual green, against Innebandy!Co in black. Nomad started the game well, when Mark scored from a rebound following a free hit. Innebandy!Co immediatly struck back to equalise. But defensive error proved costly as Adrian Lim picked up a missed pass from halfway to slot in a shot beneath Lin Ken's arms. Goals came in from both teams as the second period ended. Adrian Lim adding another two to make the score 4-3.
Nomads were in ecstacy, something seemingly impossible is on the verge of becoming possible. They had to remain focus. Coach Shawn had been telling the team to be mentally strong. He kept reminding us to not get complacent.
Then, into the third period, things didn't happened as how we hoped for. The defence was seen leaking everywhere. Innebandy!Co just seized on the chance to make the score in favour of them. The final whistle blew, with the score 5-4. We lost dramatically. Coach Shawn was obviously irritated and furious.
We lost the game, but gained truly worthy experiences. We've learned to be a team throughout the game, from the beggining to the end. Nevertheless, Nomads, be proud of the good fight. Nomad Gemilang, Nomad Gemilang, WooHa!!
